The mug measures 6.5 x 3.5 & holds one pint. This beautiful heavy beer mug is very special. The writing on the back & the image on the front tell the story of Finn MacCoul, The Irish Giant of Legend. Legend says that ‘Finn MacCoul constructed the Giant’s Causeway near Bushmills Co Antrim. The causeway was said to run from Bushmills to a cave at Staffa in Scotland (Fingal’s Cave). It is also said that Finn MacCoul created the Isle of Man by throwing a sod of earth from Ulster at an enemy in England. The sod fell short & dropped in the Irish Sea thus making the Isle of Man. The area from which the sod of earth was lifted filled with water & became Lough Neagh in Ulster. The image on the front of the mug shows the giant throwing the ‘Isle of Man’ at the Irish Sea from Ulster, & is finished in bright colours contrasting the mossy green & blue glaze famously used by Wade Irish Porcelain. The inside & the base of the mug are powder blue, contrasting the mottled & muted green glaze on the body & handle. The mug is in fine condition with no chips or crazing. It will be wrapped & packaged using recyclable materials including 100% biodegradable bubble wrap. Ceramic Beer Mug By Wade Irish Porcelain Featuring The Story Of Finn Maccoul - Giant Legend
